In Flames Cancel “Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival” Dates
In Flames have scrapped their immediate U.S. shows, including their stint on the “Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival” and their previously planned off-dates, due to terminal illness in the family. The following statement was issued on the matter:
“It is with huge regret that today with immediate effect In Flames must cancel their current US shows as part of the Rockstar Mayhem Festival and their own US Headline shows. But due to a serious terminal illness of one the band’s immediate family members they feel they have no option.
We have had the most amazing and fun times as part of the Rockstar Mayhem Festival and we are truly grateful for all the support the whole festival has shown
We will be back at the start of 2012.
Once again our apologies
In Flames“

While the situation obviously sucks, they couldn’t get a fill-in? Seriously?
Soilwork…they could shake hands at the terminal and wish each other well. i was wondering about the timing of the whole show now…I am a fan of both Trivium and In Flames, but the time slots were conflicting….does this mean I can catch both Trivum annnd Machinehead in whole or what? Good luck in life In Flames glad I had the opportunity to see you once before (2 hour set!!!) pz
None of the set times should conflict, Trivium/Machinehead/In Flames were rotating headliners. For the Clarkston date In Flame was supposed to be on the Main Stage and for IL/MI/IN dates Hatebreed is replacing Trivium to begin with, so you’ll have to check your date for the times.
Ugh, this sucks. I’m going to the show on Friday in Chicago-land, and I was looking forward to seeing In Flames as much as anyone. On a selfish note, I also agree about finding a fill-in, although if it’s Anders, they’re much better off doing what they did.
I’m there tomorrow and this sucks. They were headlining 2nd stage and their time slot is now being given to The Athiarchists. Whoever the fuck that is. All I know is that they’d better bring their A-game, since they’re headlining over Unearth and everyone here is going to be expecting In Flames still. The set times for this tour piss me off anyway. 2nd and 3rd stages will be on opposite sides of the Amphitheater stage here, which means it’s a ten minute walk around the pavilion (they generally close the seated area until main stage is ready). Kingdom of Sorrow, Suicide Silence, Unearth, and Machine Head are all on opposite stages, one after the other. So it’s “pick two and leave two” or “Watch half of all of their sets”.
