I can deal with this. I think there best recorded concert was on the “Lesser Lights” DVD. Plus, I haven’t been that a big of a fan of their last few albums, so I can deal without seeing the newer stuff on DVD. I just hope the next album gets back to the direction Zao was going when they did “The Funeral of God”. Maybe having Russ back will help them.

@relentless: hmm, I wasn’t too big a fan of ‘Alive?’, but I easily think Fear is among the best of their work. The raw heaviness of it really reminded me of their sound before Dan joined, which I felt they got away from in the Self-Titled and Funeral era. It’s weird how you can dig one of their albums while I don’t find it that good, and we can still have a conversation on how much Zao rocks without flinging shit at each other! Anyways, looking forward to new material soon.

One of my favorite things about Zao is and always will be that they just don’t care what anyone else thinks about them. Each album they try something different, not caring what the scene thinks, or whether it differs or changes styles or directions. I personally love Blood & Fire the most, but each album has something that I can always get behind. Alive?, Fear, and Funeral all had their strong points just the same.
