If your diety and religion cause you to treat others with respect no matter what they do then game. I still don’t see how drinking beers, pre-marital sex and a bit of herb lead one to pain and torment but I also don’t see why anyone could hate the deftones or not think Kate Beckinsale & Rosario Dawson are anything less than screw-tastic. Now…back to Hell Awaits, my cold beer and Suicidegirls….

    • I’m catholic. However, I believe that the best way for spreading faith is by example. They go around preaching, they’re just pushing more and more people away.

Make that 2 catlicks. I’m catholic on paper, but pretty much non-practicing. I’m not anti-faith, I’m not anti-religion. I even think religion (note: certain types, and to a point) can be a positive thing for a lot of people. So uh. Yeah. Enough about me. What do YOU do? :P
P.O.D. has always been and will always be cookie-cutter disposable crap to me. Head is a good musician, but I’m not into music with (such obvious) agendas. I’m sure I listen to bands filled with great upstanding people, as well as idiot dumb-fuck degenerate dicks. But I like the music, so I don’t really care if you’re Jesus or Lucifer – as long as you’re not trying to convert me, and your music fuckin’ rocks, works for me.

    • I. Don’t. Get. It. What was the point of that? What is the Whosoevers? Are they a band? Motivational speakers? Event Organizers? What was that documentary documenting? The Whosoevers opinions on faith? The event in Vegas? Regardless, even though I agree with the overall idea that health and happiness is better than self-destruction, it seems to me that some of these people have just traded one addiction for another. I just have a hard time taking people like Head seriously when he went from an obsessive user to an obsessive preacher. He still seems crazed. What’s so wrong with religion being a personal choice without an agenda?

^^agreed. I’m not sure what to think about this. I’m all about people being positive, and helping each other out. Certain kinds of people obviously need religion cause they’re not capable of policing themselves but I despise people pushing their religion into everyone’s face saying you’re going to hell cause you don’t believe in their form of religion when there’s several and each one claims there’s is the only right one.

I’m a christian, but I pretty much agree with everything that Rhino said. If you want other people to believe in the things you believe, the best way is to set a good example. Crying, preaching and ranting about how your life is so miserable without religion will not move anyone. I like some christian bands as long as they don’t cry and preach on stage. This is way too much.

    • agreed. part of christianity is spreading a message, but another part details condemning and finger pointing as hypocritical. henceforth, an individual preaching from the direction that _your_ eternal life is being squandered by _you_ making “poor” decisions is in fact hypocritical for that individual doing the preaching. lead by example, not condescending messianic diatribes of a lifestyle you once partook in. not like it fucking matters, since its been proven that either science or lemmy is in fact god.

Setting a good example =/= Christianity, it = being a good person. Being a good Christian would mean stoning a girl to death if she doesn’t cry out for help when being raped. Thanks for not hogging the bandwidth on Sunday mornings/afternoons so I can stream the football games better.
