Trent Reznor Speaks Out Against Latest “Pretty Hate Machine” Reissue

Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor has disowned this weeks reissue of the “original master recordings” of the bands 1989 debut, “Pretty Hate Machine“. Speaking through his Twitter, Reznor urged fans not to purchase the release, labeling it as “a record label bullshit move repackaging the old version…”. A remastered version of the outing that surfaced late last year was officially sanctioned by Reznor.

    • WHAT?! Darkest Days? Come on… that is a masterpiece. I think I did preface that post with, in my personal opinion. Seriously though, Darkest Days is a phenominal album. To be honest, I find SW’s first 3 albums better than anything NIN did. Again, my opinion.

I love Stabbing Westward, i always have ever since i was a teenager. Then again, I’ve always loved NIN ever since the early early 1990′s. That’s how it should have been said. Both are great bands (Stabbing Westward is now pretty much in the form of the emo alter ego of Chistopher Hall reincarnated into The Dreaming) Who i have seen live and do put on a good show but lets face it… Chris Hall is a woosey crybaby. He whined the stage was upstairs and the food was downstairs… c’mon lol emo much?

not to mention he whined about having to haul the equipment up a flight of stairs and having to tour in a shitty van for The Dreaming… yet i remember him saying in an interview that he wants to do this tour with The Dreaming old school, in a van, small clubs… go figure.

    • Although completely random, it wasn’t that crazy of an association. They were both considered “industrial”…. Nevertheless, it was fun. Next time, I’ll associate Bizkit with the Deftones, hahahaa… that would be crazy….

    • I guess they’re both pop industrial acts that have as much to do with Depeche Mode as KMFDM (if not more at times). Neither is a real industrial band. Anyway, back on topic. Death to shitty label reissues!

@frog – Agreed all around. Industrial’s one of NIN’s parents, but it jumped the fence and humped a couple chicks called Pop and Rock.
