The crowd was weak the whole entire show. The only sign of life shown was two skanks fighting over the Diamond Eyes vinyl George Lopez threw into the crowd.

Talk show is no excuse. I’ve been to a Jimmy Kimmel show to see a band, and there was plenty of fans there. Meanwhile, they let all the fans get up front in the stage area when it came time to play. If anything, it might be the Deftones’ marketing team’s fault for not getting word of this show out to the fans to ensure they could snatch up those free tickets for the taping. Lopez’ people probably dropped the ball too by not prioritizing the fans for when they played.
That said, I saw them live on Wednesday, so I’m all good.

It’s no secret that TV shows pick certain people from the crowd to put in the front rows so the cameras can catch them. We should just be happy that there was anyone in the crowd to begin with. It was a taping of George Lopez, after all.
I love Deftones, and Chino respectively, but wtf has happened to Chino’s vocal range? He sort of just…bawks like a chicken and gallivants around the stage. Great studio stuff though. Diamond Eyes was the best album of 2010 in my opinion.

at least his voice sounded better than Lopez’s…….why doesn’t he pick a song he can sing well?
Haven’t they been touring for awhile? It sounds like he has a vocal injury. His voice has never lasted a whole tour, as far as I can remember.
One of the most unique aspects of the deftones, kinda bites them in the ass live, in my opinion. His technique/habits leads to what we’re seeing. Still one of my fave bands though
I saw them in Detroit at the beginning of the Diamond Eyes Tour and his voice was incredible…my guess is he’s strained his vocals or he’s sick.
Yea it happens…vocal chords are fragile.
Stef’s hair looks freshly washed and conditioned. So luxurious.
