Korn Finishing Up Work On New Dubstep Themed Outing

Following their recent collaboration with Skrillex on the track “Get Up“, Korn are moving farther into dubstep territory. Speaking with NME, band bassist Reginald ‘Fieldy’ Arvizu revealed that the group have collaborated with around “six or seven dubstep producers” on their new effort, which was previously thought to only be an EP, with only some vocal takes remaining to be done.

Fieldy further revealed that the directional shift was prompted by band frontman Jonathan Davis, who is apparently a big fan of the genre and that the band felt it was “was important to stay current and keep on top of what’s going on.”

    • I think this is a very smart move, they’ll probably have this out this fall to keep ahead of game, as in other hard rock bands doing the exact same shit(it will happen, ughh).

I guarantee their record sales and concerts start selling better. In the Chicago land area, the rock radio station started picking up on the new Korn song 2 weeks ago, and it’s the most played Korn song in a since that terrible single that had swears in the title.

Korn became lame in my eyes when Issues came out, so anything remotely different they do I find intresting. The album after the “Tim Burton” album, for example, had maybe two or three good songs. But shit, at least it was different – and with Korn thats the only way I’ll bring my ears to it.

i feel like korn shoudlve turned more synthy/electronica after ‘issues’. The time to innovate was a decade ago, and they missed the mark. They shouldve collaborated with jay from orgy and done a more synth heavy sound. Im not saying that this wouldve made them great but better then they were.

I don’t get it. The last album was supposed to be a return to their roots and quite honestly, I thought it was a decent album. Now they want to try a new sound? They shouldve learned the last time they went this route it was a fail. Jons voice isnt suited for this type of music. I feel thay couldve stayed much more in step if they got heavier instead of this dubstep crap. They need some Head

    • Fine, I never truly let Korn be, I was always looking on their shoulder making sure they weren’t up to any trouble…… But there was also much time with my face snarled into elephant man form due to the negative effects of listening to Korn.

    • Remember how successful they were the last time they invited someone else to write their songs for them (See You on the other side and Korn2), how is this going to help their career any?

Head and David, where are you when they need you most?
