This album needs more re-mastering than any of their other ones (other than boosting the bass levels on …And Justice).

As far as St. Anger is concerned I would drop entire songs from the album. I would keep Frantic, St. Anger, Some Kind of Monster, Invisible Kid, Shoot Me Again, The Unnamed Feeling, All Within My Hands; the fucker still clocks in at over 50 minutes.

I wonder how much of the drum sound is just digital mixing effects in a lame attempt to make it sound “raw.”

I am one of the few people that like St. Anger (for the 6.5 songs that I enjoy) because it is a big FUCK YOU to everything they did on Load and Reload.

This album pisses people off, and people still talk about it. That alone allows it to keep it’s place in metal history (despite how crappy it sounds).

Maybe, somewhere, there are masters that can be mixed like Death Magnetic. Not that Death Magnetic is a mixing wonder, but it was a step up from St. Anger.

    • Everything after And Justice was a big fuck you to everyone. Kill ‘em All was the first album I remember hearing and they were my favorite band until the Black Album. They need to give this shit up and retire already.
