    • Didn’t exactly wow me, but I’m liking the return to old form. Sounding like Beauty & the Breakdown is exactly what I wanted. Though in part, that’s because I’ve never expected BYD as the kind of band to heavily evolve their music, so lack of progression isn’t really bothering me.

And “Slaughterhouse 5,” huh? Book theme this time around? Maybe Vonnegut specifically, since he does have enough material? Meaningless to the music, I know, but now and then I get intrigued by some of the novel shit bands like to do.

This is just solid. Glad Matt is back. Myke Terry did an amazing job I thought but there was just something missing. Having Matt in there just brings them to the level that they should be at. I’m just blown away by the song writing difference between the albums. I don’t think Myke ever really fit and I’m stoked to see they picked up where Beauty and the Breakdown ended mainly because I don’t know if I’ve heard a better metalcore album since Beauty and the Breakdown. It might be dying genre, but these guys transcend it. Pure power, pure emotion. Damn, it’s just hot shit.
