Mastodon Reveal Tentative Track Titles From New Album (Updated)
Mastodon have revealed two working titles from their upcoming album which they have been in the studio working on as of late. They include “Blasteroids” and “All The Heavy Lifting“. Both songs are slated to appear on the new effort which the group say “will be coming soon.”
To date the band have laid down the drum tracks for the outing at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles, CA and currently holed up at Atlanta’s Doppler Studios tracking the outing with producer Mike Elizondo (Avenged Sevenfold, Eminem).
In other news, the groups cover of ZZ Top‘s “Just Got Paid” will be featured on the upcoming “Transformers: Dark Of The Moon” soundtrack, which is due in stores on June 14th.

Elizondo, eh? Not sure how I feel about that. I’d prefer someone who knows when to ease up on the compression.

Oh how I can’t wait. Curious to see how what Brann’s update about it being more like Leviathan versus progressive like the recent few holds up. Band members always say shit like that about upcoming albums, but way too often none of it holds up. Though maybe that’s just ’cause the guys writing the music see it a lot differently versus those that just listen.
Brann made a post on the Mastodong board saying that they will finish up recording in just a few days. I’m stoked! Hopefully a fall release!
