Impressive as always
I really like it but honestly it’s missing that ridiculous hook (or 3) that past FTM tracks have displayed. That said, the 4 demos that came out 09 had them so I’ll still have extraordinary high expectations for this.
I normally don’t do this but for this band I will. @CMA Please don’t get on here, of all places, and start talking about how a song needs a hook! This isn’t a pop music we’re talking about. If something needs to be stuck in your head for you to enjoy it then go listen to mainstream radio.
This new song of theirs is beyond killer and this new album is gonna be amazing.
Sorry buddy, FTM aren’t measured by their extraordinary technicality or sheer brutality…they’re measured by their song craft. I’m sorry you’re just way too metal to understand how important a hook can be in a song, but FTM’s past work had those in spades and it was a big reason why they stood out so far ahead of their peers. Maybe you shouldn’t be listening to FTM if you think they’re using elements of such a dreaded tag as “pop”?
What the hell?!? LOL I think you totally misunderstood who and what I was talking about. I don’t even like heavy music. FTM, Dredg and Tool are about as heavy as I get. I listen to a lot of music that does not require a hook to be good and your idea that if music isn’t heavy it has to have hooks is retarded at best. FTM was made special by the hybrid sound and clever song writing. Clever song writing doesn’t automatically = hooks. God…
