Wouldn’t be suprised if Vinnie was actually proud of his work with Hell No, probably trying to cater to the redneck demographic, who knows but what a waste of his talent. What would Dimebag say…

I want to be excited but not really. The entire 2nd album sounded almost like the first with the exception of a couple songs but still. I enjoyed the first one and was even at their very first show in B-more but from what has been seen on different sites on the net, like this there are those portion of people that don’t care for them, they still have a good following and are making money. Also people need to realize that VP doing this is like therapy for him and it’s alot better than him dwelling on Dime don’t you think? I still would prefer Maxwell doing the Knives Out thing.

@ tentonwolf, For as much respect as I have for Dimebag, I don’t think he would have said shit. He was a founding member of Damageplan, so…yeah.

@southpawchew, I mostly agree. Although I really like the second Mudvayne album, and like 3 songs from the third. (IMN may be my favorite song Mudvayne has ever made).

On topic, Hellyeah is the most disappointing collaboration ever. I will give it a listen when it leaks, but only to reinforce my feelings about how shitty they are.

So obviously this means that youre proud of ‘stampede’ and thats why youre already putting that album in the rear view to get more tunes out there…

    • I disagree with the last statement said. It is by far not the worst. Fairly boring and bland, not the worst though. I can think of plenty other HORRID metal bands.

@Honolulublueballs wasn’t serious about my remark about Dimebag, he more than likely would be supportive of anything his brother wanted, guess I can only speak for myself when referring to Hell yeah (and how much they suck).
@jayofdajungle I know it wasn’t terribly clever but what can I say, I have a dry sense of humor sometimes and can’t help myself…

    • All you fucks sound like a waste of breath, can’t believe you fucks can even have the nerve to bring up Dime and what he thinks. When Hell Yeah puts out the next album I hope it shuts all your mouths. Don’t even buy the album since they Quote suck so bad. Fucking ingrate’s

    • I’m not a huge Hellyeah fan – though I find it difficult to get all worked up about how badly they supposedly suck – but I’m consistently dismayed to discover how little so many of you think of Damageplan. They and their album helped make 2004 a great year of metal for me, and I still spin it. No, it’s not Pantera, and I wasn’t expecting it to be when it came out. I was expecting great, melodic, heavy music and I got it. NOT AT ALL in the Little League where Hellyeah resides.

@ Viking – I thought New Found Power was pretty solid myself. I still spin it from time to time. It’s nowhere near the embarassment that Hellmeh is and Pat is/was? actually a pretty good frontman.

    • Everything accosiated with Pantera died after The Great Southern Trendkill to me. That’s one of the most brutal “commercial” metal albums. But I think that has alot to do with Seth Putnam doing like 80% of the high pitched screams.

@ Viking, I guess I could give Damageplan another spin. I just remember hearing it in 04 and thinking, Really? From Pantera to this? Maybe if I hear it now it would sound better, especially using Hellyeah as a basis for comparison.

oh, and dude from the community service quote, no worries brah. I don’t plan on giving a bunch of Illinois and Maryland natives pretending to be cowboys any of my hard earned cash. The only way Hellyeah could possibly shut my mouth is if they actually utilize the combined talent of their members and produce a sound that’s unique, legitimate and of course, isn’t catered to slackjawed inbred fucks.
