Anybody been high enough the last ten years or so to keep with the Mars Volta’s wavelength? I was thrown from that train shortly after Frances the Mute.
this is awesome news! now i Have to go to the philly show
So, Mars Volta will get to play 3 songs
3 songs if they have 1.5 hours lol
their new stuff is way shorter, they haven’t been doing the lengthy jams since the amputechture tours. the last two albums and the new stuff they’ve been playing have all been quite concise.
I’ve never gotten to see them live. I’ve always wanted to hear the song Francis The Mute. I bet is would be amazing live.
Got my tickets to Philly
Always wanted to make a music video with paper and my lightbox to the portion of the fungus trip I had when I first heard the “Frances the Mute” song. Since it’s a 14:39 song, that’d be 21,096 pages of drawing.. if you use the standard 24 frames per second guideline.
Needless to say, I changed my mind once the silly rabbit adventure was over
so… I’m the commie who is gonna say it. I “dislike” (being nice) Soundgarden. I would watch all 3 mars volta songs (lol), then return to my automobile.
This might’ve been good news, were the tickets not $200.
Soundgarden is fucking awesome, Superunknown was one of the first CDs I bought. Does TMV play One Armed Scissor live?
Why do you “dislike” Soundgarden, will?
Sorry Will, not in the same automobile on this one. Which is lucky, because if you were my ride back, and you left early, I would be pissed…..
Just listen to Badmotorfinger. Superunknown and Down On The Upside have songs that are good but on the whole, I don’t like them.
Ive seen TMV 6 times, they do not play any At The Drive-In songs. Would be cool if they did though.
tickets are not 200, they are 80 a piece, still expensive, but not 200
just not a grunge fan fellow prp bros. i take exception to some, but soundgarden erk me. SPPOOOONNNNN MAAANNNNN! blah.
Ah man, “Spoonman” is such a limited example of what Soundgarden is about. Like someone said before, “Badmotorfinger” is definitely worth listening to/appreciating for life. But, if grunge ain’t your thing, then whatever. Soundgarden will have no problem selling out shows without one more fan.
& what about AIC, I gotta say they’re my fav of the “grunge” era
Soundgarden was by far my favorite band back in the early 90′s, and I miss the whole early 90′s “grunge” scene. I actually remember that I was wearing a SG shirt the day they announced they broke up!
Underrated gems – Mudhoney, Willard, Screaming Trees and (the big boys, literally) TAD.
Screaming Trees are legit, the most I’ve heard of Mudhoney is from Black Sheep, and even though they aren’t full-blown grunge I love me some Candlebox. The kings, however, are most certainly Stone Temple Pilots.
Blind Melon’s the bomb pussy, too
Will – you gotta look past the whole spoonman lyrics, underneath is one of the nastiest riffs in rock music. period.
