    • Solid observation…that still doesn’t take into account that Trivium really doesn’t sound anymore like Metallica than any other standard metal band that was influenced by them (which is basically about 95%).

    • I’ll be the first to say it: I like Trivium, and I’m excited for this album. Metallica clone? Hardly. Metallica influence? Sure, and that’s a good thing.

    • ^^ Agree.

i dont think people even bother with Trivium anymore since the whole “Crusade” album… which is a shame because people only heard their only album thats different. Shogun is amazing and the next album will be even better.

    • From the moment I heard it upon release, I thought The Crusade was a pretty inspired piece of work. A ballsy, pre-neo-thrash era sendup of old school influences, with their own twist on it. Later on, I was honestly puzzled by all the hate it received. Some people will just never be pleased no matter who is playing what.

    • i do agree with you on that… he definitely had a change to his vocal style, definitely shows a James Hetfield influence. a side from that tho it sounded nothing like metallica… and when people started saying “the next metallica” i think it was more meant as success wise, not musically.
