Good news for hardcore fans?… But ive always felt that jamey jasta was the one thing that kept me from liking this band. Does anyone else agree?

I’ve never liked this band, not cos of Jamey Jasta (though his lyrics are really dumb), just because they’re a really boring band on record. I’m sure live they’re a lot of fun to see, but their songs are all a bit samey. You’ve heard one, you’ve heard em all pretty much.

Jamey Jasta is the man…his bandana wearing does get a bit obnoxious…but other than that he has done a lot for heavy music. And this is coming from someone who is not even into the hardcore side of things much. Running his own label, did the headbangers ball for awhile, a ridiculous amount of touring (one of the best live bands out there), an exceptional side project (Kingdom of Sorrow) and consistently writing uplifting music that appeals to everyone in the world of heavy music. So I guess I respectfully disagree, haha

    • true that Natemare. last time I saw them play was the 05 (I think) ozzfest. they opened the main stage prior to “shitty of evil” era A7X. drunk rednecks everywhere went crazy. it was strange to see them in that light. but in 2001 when I first heard Satisfaction is the death of desire, to me, that was the some of the most heavy shit I had encountered.

as close friends of mine, iv been on headbangers ball as their guest before, seen them over 22 times in 4 different states, and i still cant get enough. i realize its nothing revolutionary but iv been a fan of them since about 98 and like i said, become close friends w them, i always get super excited to hear new stuff, and constantly encourage them to re record under the knife. i had heard they where demoing but didnt know it was for anything concrete, this is awesome news. take it for what it is guys, this isnt technical talent, its meat and potato’s hardcore. try not to over think what they bring to the plate. cheers!

    • I don’t really have anything against them, per se. Just not anything I’d listen to. They do what they do and they do it well. If I’m in the mood for hardcore, I’ll pick Converge or Graf Orlock or Bad Brains.
