    • Well I love this band. Seen them live multiple times and they always crush it, and they’re pretty nice people offstage. I root for their success.

this band fucking sucks pig dicks. the vocalist is a FAG and his voice is shitty. heres my story with these dudes. They usually come to seattle at least twice a year and are always the very first or second band to come and play after the local band does their set. I remember one night last year, my then girlfriend and I bought VIP passes for Hypocrisy so we can meet and greet beofre the show and have peter tagtgren sign some of our Hypocrisy, Pain and Bloodbath merch. so we were there early for that. blackguard played first and we were standing near the back of the venue by the bands merchandise and booth seating and stuff. of course during blackguards set we looked at eachother like “is this for realz?”. after the set the vocalist came to the back where we were standing and was chillin out next to his bands merch with this total shit-eater-grin on his face. he started talking to my girlfriend and was like “I saw you lookin at me” and ” so did you dig our set”…just being a total fag KNOWING she was standing next to me he kept saying the gayest shit. SO anyways during the NEXT bands set (some polish band called Hate), the blackguar dude came up next to my then girlfriend again. I couldnt hear anything due Hate playing, but between songs she’d say the blackguard dude was asking her who she was here to see, and if she wanted to go backstage with him and meet hypocrisy. but the dude was just a total CREEPER piece of shit!. just his whole wannabe rockstar persona was sooooo stupid and he even said if we wanted to buy a shirt he’d sign it! WHOOPDIE-FUCKING-DOO what an honor, you’d do that for us?! FUCKING FAGGOT!!!!. I HATE BLACKGUARD with my entire being,

    • Sorry to hear that, Afghan. Your experience was obviously different from mine. I’ve never seen Blackguard outside of Montreal (their hometown where they’re comfortable), so maybe that’s why. Either way, good for you for supporting Tagtgren. I caught that tour as well. That dude is the definition of metal in all its forms.

    • @ Afghan – I recently reviewed their new album, and here are some of my thoughts. Their previous CD, Profugus Mortis, was anchored mostly in rhythm guitars with keyboard leads layered on top. That provoked a lot of comparisons to folk metal bands like Eluveitie, etc. Then their full time keyboardist, Jonathan, quit the band and they decided not to replace him. Instead, for the new album, they shifted the keys from the foreground to the background, where they now mostly provide atmosphere rather than leads. In their place, the guitarists Kim and Terry stepped it up with a lot more shredding, which wasn’t very present before. They’ve only just begun to play this new material live, so I’m willing to cut them some slack if they don’t 100% nail it the first few times. I agree, they kind of missed the mark on the leads in this performance, but that doesn’t change the fact that I love what they’ve done and believe in what they can do. But to each his own I guess. ;)
