The lead singer has really put on some weight since I saw them with alexisonfire and Saosin about 4 years ago…..
Was gonna say the exact same thing, haha.
It bewilders me why this guy tries to sing while he yells and screams since it’s clearly beyond his vocal capacity. His screaming is good, but when he tries to sing it just makes him sound amateur. Some are built for it, some aren’t, this dude needs to just stick to what he’s good at. Beyond that, not a bad performance.
Stick to what he’s good at? You mean hot-dog eating?
…terrible performance! The album version is 1000x better.
Album versions are always better. You know why? Because they do shit over and over until it’s perfect.
or protools.
You fuck up on one little part, all you have to do is punch in and punch out. Replay that little part and you’re done. I think people imagine that bands get it down in one shot in the studio.
….I have a degree in Audio Engineering, but thanks for the refresher. I was just implying that he sounds REALLY bad live.
If I ever have time I’d love to learn how to run a soundboard, but I imagine it’s tough to get a decent job doing so. Would be a fun evening/weekend job.
No problem bro. We all need a refresher sometimes.
I’d also like to point-out I think it’s a requirement to fuck-up the audio when working for Fuel TV’s audio department.
I thought they reproduced the sound of the record quite well live-for-TV. They sounded about as good as As I Lay Dying the other month and everyone raved about their effort….which I thought, incidentally, was good too. So yeah, I had eggs for breakfast.
Although I didn’t have eggs for breakfast, I agree with Surly. I didn’t think this performance was bad at all, definitely as good as the AILD performance. Nothing sounds great on “The Daily Habit,” as least what I’ve seen. On that note, I need to let my woman know eggs better be on the menu tomorrow. Thanks Surly.
Eggs-cellent!
