Emery Sign With Solid State, New Album Due In March
Emery have inked deal with Solid State and will release their new album “We Do What We Want” through the label on March 29th. Speaking on the effort, band vocalist/guitarist Toby Morrell offered the following:
“The overall vibe of the album is heavy, heavy, heavy. That’s what we were going for; we wanted to see how far we could take it. We wanted to make this album the heaviest thing we had ever done, and I think we accomplished it.”
You can judge for yourself as the band are currently streaming their new album track “The Cheval Glass” online via their Myspace.

Now that Devin’s taking a hiatus it seems they are giving Josh more vocal duties. They may be on a Christian label and have some Christian messages, when I met them at the airport all they cared about was finding the nearest Applebee’s to get wasted at happy hour. Some cool dudes, especially Josh.
I’ve always liked these dudes.
I’ve always liked a couple of songs from their albums, maybe this album will turn me on to them. The new song rips.
Their first two CD were their best IMO. I’m definitely gonna download it and give it a listen, and buy it if it’s really good.
If you liked their first two CDs, you’d probably also like their latest ‘…In Shallow Seas We Sail’. If you like the harder stuff, try ‘Butcher’s Mouth’, ‘Cutthroat Collapse’, and ‘Curbside Goodbye’. If you like stuff like ‘Studying Politics’, try ‘A Sin to Hold On To’ and ‘Churches and Serial Killers’. The more I think of it, the more it probably is simply their best album to date.
I want to like this band but I can’t get past lyrics about Christianity. I will say the end of the song Walls is pretty rad though.
