    • Ok. I am confused. Can someone please explain to me what (if any) actual full length album plans GJ has for the future? Between this E.P. and the “Our Color Green” E.P., they have released a full length’s worth of new material in ep form…which is all fine and good but I want to hear a FULL length in its entirety one of these days…im assuming this is it unless they have a whole other set of songs up their sleeves…. (its been long enough though they could i suppose) anyone have an answer?

    • Haha. Yea I’m pretty confused myself. They’ve become a very mysterious group of individuals…Beck and Daryl, specifically. I just bought a ticket today for the Starland Ballroom show on 3/26 so I’m pretty excited.

@ZiltoidAttax, yes theres about a full-lengths worth of material, but if you listen to both CDs you can hear a big difference in the styles. It’s almost like “Our Color Green” was written in pieces since 2001. “Coloring Book”, however, is very drum-oriented, no screaming and much more mature sounding. I remember reading something about their guitarist saying the new material had a “latin vibe” to it. After listening to Coloring Book, you can definitely hear something of the sort. Also, its almost like Daryl is still singing Head Automatica songs, which is great. I have enjoyed the crazier sides of Glassjaw, but I cannot turn the screaming old stuff on around certain people (who don’t like post-hardcore) without them talking shit. Now, theres nothing to talk shit about. Can’t wait to hear this new stuff live.

I love it!! glassJAw have really surprised me these last few months. I really like the “Our Color Green EP” however I thought the songs were a very 1999. Also there didn’t seem to be much production. I bet they did this on purpose since the songs were more than 6 or 7 years old so why put so much effort? These new songs on the other had sound more thoroughly produced with more backing vocals and guitars. Sounds awesome and can’t wait for the full length that I’m sure they’re sitting on waiting for the right moment to release.

    • But then again..I have been as just as an obnoxiously demanding purveyor of their craft. 50-fucking-50 as far as I’m concerned. A compromise how many years coming?

    • went to the 2/15 show in charlotte nc. the encore was all new stuff. very anti-climatic end to the show. new stuff is very slow and drum-oriented like noted above (have not fully digested the cd they gave out yet **Coloring Book). great show and I love the band but damn… only one E.T.Y.W.T.K.A.S. song (maybe 2) the whole time. I can’t bad mouth them, but not what I thought it would be.
I saw them first in 2000 with deftones and then later in the year with earth crisis. they ripped my face off each time. this show was not that. good seeing them again but the encore was lack luster in the hype department.

    • if anyone reads this far back, fuck me. Coloring Book kills. it is slower paced, but it kills. download, learn, go to your local gj show and get hype. Coloring Book is 2011 album of the year. the only thing better would be if another gj album came out this year.
