I’m hoping Machine Head and Kingdom of Sorrow will hook up for some off dates.
Otherwise I’d be leaving early…who the hell thought Godsmack and Disturbed (again) was a good idea??!!

    • BOM – dare I say it, but I think those who are wanting to make some $$$’s have put those two bands on the bill. It’s a good ‘ol hard rockin’ American’s wet dream, no?

    • Either one of those bands can sell-out an amphitheater easily. Houston’s rock/alternative does two festival shows a year and the last one in October had Godsmack headline over a just-reformed (although not all original members) Bush, who were playing their 4th show back or something.

    • Yeah you can’t have Megadeth headline a festival like this or its just the Gigantour which made no MONEY. Disturbed and Godsmack are the two bands that will draw 98% of the people you see at thta show. However, I’ve seen them both and while I’m not a huge fan of their music, if you even remotely like the songs you hear on the radio you’ll enjoy these two loud and in your face. I do.

This is for sure the best lineup since first one. Not a whole lotta competition but this is the strongest second stage/lower first stage billing they’ve had yet.

I don’t know why Disturbed is rumored for this. Usually, their tour cycle always ends with Music As A Weapon. Though, honestly, these festival shows usually only have 2-4 good bands, and the rest is filled with mediocre bands to pass the time. Seriously, every one of these Mayhemfests and lately Ozzfests have been filledwith this “metalcore,” where it’s basically the same band playing for 3 hours on the second stage. I miss the days when the tours had a full lineup of good bands. In Flames doesn’t count, by the way. They’re far too good to be pulled into the hot-topic metalcore scene. Get Rammstein to headline this tour, that would be great. My opnions, please no personal attacks. Good.

    • I go every year because regardless of some of the shit bands that play there are some really awesome ones. Going without question if All Shall Perish will be there; since I missed them on the Summer Slaughter this previous year.

It bothers me that people listen to Disturbed and are satisfied. There’s so much more out there. At the same time, I have to admit that the latest Godsmack record was garbage. But, they’re no Machine Head or Megadeth.
