The System Of A Down reunion rumors look to be a reality with the band heavily expected to appear at the “Download Festival” and the “Rock AM Ring Festival” overseas this coming summer. Official plans are expected to be revealed shortly.
For now, fans sniffing around the “Rock AM Ring Festival” web servers have uncovered an alleged forthcoming announcement for the “Rock AM Ring Festival“, it can be seen below:

why is “am” in capital letters? Do americans even know what Rock am Ring means?
I saw Serj solo after his debut album at a festival, he was crap. He’s like one of those kids that try really hard to just be weird, and it’s incredibly annoying.
what does AM mean?
I for the life of me never could get into or really understand the appeal of SOAD. Theyre like a really simple phenomenon that everyone else gets, like ‘magic eye’ photos. Except i could never see the fucking sailboat…

@Rev – I get what you’re saying. I think they’re an acquired taste – those that love ‘em, love ‘em, those that don’t, have no idea why the rest love ‘em. I remember how addicted I was to their first album. Still great stuff. High energy, fun, catchy, heavy, and quite original overall. Good combo.
It’s wild hearing about the possibility of a reunion now, I just dug up all my System stuff a few days ago to listen to… haven’t spun those in years.
Hold on guys, don’t get too excited. Did anyone else find it horribly suspicious that the ad featured that horrible fucking song that was popular like four years ago? My theory is this was someone’s dream lineup three years ago, and the guy that created it was just a little behind the curve (though ahead of the curve with Volbeat).
System of a Down’s first album is absolutely one of my favorite albums of all time. That album had a punk rock feel behind it, like it was almost dangerous to even listen to it. It had a message, it had a purpose. Then came Toxicity, and SOAD’s dangerous edge was replaced with mainstream popularity, and it was all downhill from there.
Great tunes on Toxicity though, too. Jet Pilot, Aerials, Prison Song. Lotta good stuff on that. It may have gone downhill, but not at a very steep incline. Last albums still have good moments. But yeah, nothing beats the first, front to back.

…We also want to thank you for your loyalty and support, not only to System Of A Down, but to all of our solo efforts as well. We have no master plan of sorts – we are playing these shows simply because we want to play together again as a band and for you, our amazing fans.
