No doubt half of the prp community will be downloading or out buying all of the albums on this list in the next 24 hours.
thought he might add helium in there. not shocked on the hum and shoegaze. however, I was suprised by the amount of low key “cocktail” he listed. maybe touring with this and that through the years makes you seek out something different. I have read about him enjoying this stuff in his youth but I never expected this much of his list to be dominated by it. whatever floats your boat chino. if it gets us more ‘tones records, play on.
Fever Ray! That’s an amazing record.
bohren is brilliant, awesome that he knows them
surprised My Bloody Valentine didnt make it.
@buttcrackguy haha I agree with you. Half of the list I haven’t heard of and after reading his explanations, it makes me want to take a listen. Of course I won’t be rushing out to buy them, more like sampling.
I’m afraid I won’t be listening to anything on this list. I respect his taste in music, however sleepy time and 80′s techno dance music are not things that I find to be jammin’.
@planetdeath
That’s funny, I hope to god you’re being sarcastic.
‘Loveless’ rules btw.
Why would he be joking about My Bloody Valentine? Are you possible mistaking this well-respected band for Bullet for My Valentine? If so, you need to get a My Bloody Valentine record. As Surly said, Loveless is the key choice.
Oh, and I also went through this list and the only thing I found interesting enough to check out was Fever Ray. Oh, I’ve heard Hum before but it doesn’t do a whole lot for me, so that doesn’t count. Anyways, I never even heard of this Fever Ray stuff but it’s decent for what it is. I could see getting into it. Boy needs to get off Sade’s nuts.
Just hit Fever Ray up for a twirl – fucking crazy cool! Ambient and minimal – I tip my hat to Chino, a purveyor of interesting tastes.
I’ve been enjoying Chino’s recommendation of Pantha Du Prince too. Cool if you like minimalist, leftfield electro/house. Speaking of Fever Ray, those who like her stuff might be interested to hear that she’s actually the chick from The Knife:

@ Surly, nice new look btw. good stuff. quick question, is this a AUS artist (the knife)? and if so, is this what the youth of AUS do all day? the matching shirts are..much, but if so I am moving. I love to skate longboards! all I require to move is for you to shot your neighbor(s) and get me a pet kangaroo for my new backyard. thanks
ps. the only album I know by heart on this list is the HUM. great record.
no shit surly, i dig the knife track. keep surfin’ back by to jam it. really, i wanna ride with the kids down that hill while this song plays. green
Hello will….
1. Thank you. This John Doe had a name though.
2. The knife = are an electro pop duo from Sweden, formed in 1999.
3. Sounds like someone is getting ‘festive’ a month early?
