P.O.D., dredg, Head And More Onboard For January Chi Cheng Benefit Show
Another benefit concert for ailing Deftones bassist Chi Cheng is being planned. The show, which is currently being revamped to be a multi-night affair, was originally scheduled to take place at the Slidebar in Fullerton, CA on January 15th; however expanded plans for the event are set to be revealed shortly.
Artists onboard include P.O.D., dredg, Head, Hoobastank, Anew Revolution, Crucified, The Accident Experiment and more. Also being planned is an all-star jam session featuring members of Shinedown, Anthrax, Breaking Benjamin, Atreyu, Papa Roach, Lit among others.
Cheng is currently still recovering from a 2008 car accident which originally left him in a coma. A new fundraising drive to cover the costs of getting him to New Jersey to be under the direct care of the International Brain Research Foundation is currently underway over at Oneloveforchi.com.

I’m going to the Jersey Shore bitch!
Christ, Chi deserves better artists than this…
yeah Kamui I was thinking the same thing. It’s basically Dredg and a bunch of shitty bands
It seems pretty obvious to me that NO ONE in the deftones would have any respect for a band like Hoobastank, POD, or just about any of these other GOD AWFUL recording artists. Seriously.. Lit?! How much wheeling and dealing did it take to book those international superstars. Just imagine the cash they’ll bring to the table. About the only bands that make sense here are dredg, Head (due to history), and Papa Roach (due to geography). The rest of these bands: Bleck! I don’t understand why they don’t just have a DEFTONES SHOW in Sacramento and auction off guitars, used chewing gum from the White Pony sessions, etc. They could also start up a bidding war and play a show using the setlist of whoever doled out the most cash. I guarantee this model would bring a much better result than the Los Angeles County Wash Up All Star Brigade.
did it ever cross your mind they might be friends with these people? just because we would rather hear a toilet flush repeatedly than listen to these awful attempts at music doesn’t mean it is impossible to be friends with these lackluster “musicians” and have them show support for their friend. then again, why make people suffer through these sets when they could donate their contracts to the local dump and make the world a better place.
I think Chi would be grateful that these bands are doing something to help with his medical bills, regardless if you like them or not.
The Accident Experiement over The Suicide Chords???? REALLY!? San Diego has better choices than T.A.E. that would kill to play this show…
