Norma Jean Frontman Unhappy With Former Labels Back Catalogue Release Plans
Norma Jean frontman Cory Brandan doesn’t appear to be thrilled with his bands former label home Solid State Records‘ plans to compile three of their albums for a combo release. Comment on the set, Brandan fired the following missive via his Twitter:
“Don’t buy any cd combo “deals”. Buy a new record instead. FSS!”
The set in question is “Birds And Microscopes And Bottles Of Elixirs And Raw Steak And A Bunch Of Songs“, a 32 song 3-CD set which compiles the bands albums “Bless The Martyr And Kiss The Child“, “O God, The Aftermath” and “Redeemer” into a single release. It is currently slated for for a release through Solid State on November 23rd.

hah thats funny. solid state is going to make all the money off the sales since norma jean isnt with them any more. not like that cd combo is going to sell more than 10. I mean it IS still norma jean, the great white suck.
i love when bands bitch about prior labels re-releasing and re-packaging old records… its part of the game kids… if ya dont want that happening dont sign to a label… 666

Afghanistam you obviously dont know what the hell you are talking about. Norma Jean are a great band (you obviously didn’t hear their new release otherwise that would prove that fact even further)…and you dont know how much they would sell, after all, not everyone is as braindead as you are.
Still…this is a bad idea nonetheless. Just get the damn albums individually. Hell I even have their cds when they were known as Luti-Kriss…what are they gonna bundle those too sometime? Stupid.
Wow, thats an even worse title than the new Bring Me the Horizon album.
@peanutbuttercruch you are correct
I think (by now) any fan of Norma Jean has all 3 of these records. I really doubt there will be a significant amount of people saving their shillings for this dumb package.
So did Norma Jean not fulfill their contract with SS? I was under the impression labels could only release ‘best of’ or combo packages if the band didn’t fill their album quota.
Don’t worry, dude. I won’t buy either. Ever.
(Even if I did like your shitty band I’d just steal your records anyways)
well then there really was no point in commenting in the first place was there? idiot.
