Blackguard Sign With Victory Records
Blackguard have inked a deal with Victory Records. The band tracked a new album earlier this year and are expecting to release it through the label on February 15th. For now, Victory Records issued the following statement on their signing:
“VICTORY RECORDS is proud to announce the signing of Montreal’s BLACKGUARD. This Montreal sextet of death-metal warriors will conquer battlefields with their monumental sound and visual amazement you must see to believe. Join us as we welcome BLACKGUARD to VICTORY!”

I’ve seen (and met) these guys twice in the past year, and they are fucking awesome. Their chick drummer (!!!) ain’t bad looking either. Excellent news!

And I don’t know if it’s just the recording quality, but they sound like a terrible Protest the Hero/HORSE the Band mash-up, in the worst possible way.
