I’ve been an ATR fan since Behind the Silence and Solitude years, and it sucks to admit that this album is just mediocre at best. They still have some of their signature sound, but it is very dilluted. They are definitely maturing as musicians and experimenting with different genres, but this album just lacks the aggressiveness that their past albums have had. Phil’s clean vocals are impressive, but I feel that they are sometimes contrived, and used when they really don’t need to be used. I just hope they include a lot more of their older material in their setlists, when they are on the road. :(

Sad to say I agree with killedswitch in regards to the quality of this particular album. It’s better than most music out there, but it is not what I expected.

Overcome is way better than this, I can’t find anything slightly memorable, and I’ve been listening to it on repeat for almost four hours while I cleaned my garage this morning, and I still for the life of me can’t bring one of the songs into my head right now.

@buttcrrackguy I totally agree with you. i’m a guitarist and appreciate ATR’s riffage, but there’s not one really memorable, catchy, or heavy-as-balls riff that catches my attention.
