On a listen through, I think it’s their best effort yet. This has got some interesting ambient, prog moments.
Another album from these dude JAM PACKED with stock production sounds / “ambiance”. Like, at least tweak that sounds. I can literally HEAR their computers.
I’m not jumping on the defensive foot with this comment – but aren’t SFX and ambient sounds generally created on a computer and are meant to sound techy and synthetic? It’s not as it they’re putting animal noises or trees creaking in the wind.
Bands like Leviathan, ISIS, Neurosis, Cave In, Converge etc add plenty of ambiance to their albums with pedals & processors and using ACTUAL instrument experimentation as opposed to just going the easy route and going to a producer who’s good at adding bells and whistles VIA BMTH or Emmure or some band of that nature.
Emmure? Never heard of them.
Haha. Well played my good man.
