The clip in the beginning is ripped off of Timelessness from Fear Factory. Then Shinoda starts it with a Public Enemy lyric damn so they ran out of original things to do. I hope the rest of the album doesn’t suck as much as this shit. I’ve always been a Linkin Park fan but since that song “A New Divide” they’ve been disappointing me.

      I agree with buttcrackguy.

I can’t get over them using the same audio clip as Fear Factory.

Well I guess I’m downloading this when it comes out now.

He rips off quite a few different “raps” or however you want to say it. I just think I outgrew this band a long time ago. It’s hard to be 34 and listen to Linkin Park. I saw the Projekt Revolution tour six or seven years ago, Snoop and Korn opened for Linkin Park, and I have to admit that Linkin Park put on a good show for what it was worth. It was hard to listen to them even back then because the music is so played out on the radio that it’s not exciting to hear it live. FF is a top five band in my book, and I don’t like LP jocking them.

you stop doing the drugs and you lose all the creativity… this band is utter shit and has been for quite some time now. not that i never listened to them or enjoyed their first 2 releases but this sounds really REALLY lame.

Yeah for sure the song is a massive, stinking pile of dinosaur crap. but I’m not really sure what to think about the timelessness audio clip in the beginning. Its like, Obsolete for sure was one of the most groundbreaking and influencial metal albums of the 90′s, and someone, wether LP or their audio producers…SOMEONE HAD to have known FF used that byte in Obsolete…i dont know wether or not its like an “ode” to FF or that people in the new rock industry just dont care anymore.

I was disappointed with their last album and ‘New Divide’. I thought they would sound better if Shinoda started rapping again…Obviously I was wrong. Linkin Park obviously lost their magic. Now they’re just a bunch of has-beens who are just full of themselves.

This song sounds like it was made using garageband. Not saying that LP is some bone crushing brutal metal band but the 2 songs from this album so far even sounds weak / thin / SUPER produced by their standards. It is however a lot better than the single…Which isn’t saying much. I wouldn’t be surprised if they (or someone! lol) made these songs on a MacBook or something.

    • Blech. Always hated them. Still hate ‘em. Always will. Have they ever actually been creative, as someone said up there? I think that’s a stretch. It’s always been straight-up “hard” pop music to me. What I find surprising are that some people seem surprised this sucks (as if it didn’t all suck before).
Whenever I hear someone say they’re a Linkin Park fan, I cross them off my list of people to talk to about music. Just like Nickelback – i.e. fuckin’ crap.

I agree w/ robichaud1 100%. I’ve said since day one that these dudes were a nu-metal backstreet boys. Everything about them is TOTALLY pop formatted.

    • This actually sounds quite new and fresh (huge sounding beat with some rapping over it).
It will probably sell, since people and radios are mostly afraid of guitars.
It’s still a very average song, and everything they did on their first 2 records shits on those new songs.

Linkin Park has become the Carlos Mencia of radio rock. Stealing clips from Fear Factory, lyrics from Public Enemy and terrible reggae choruses from Skindred. The only thing this band has become GOOD at is predictable and terrible. And they are fucking MASTERS at being terrible.

I don’t know that Linkin Park stole anything…..that part in the beginning is a speech by mario savio, it’s pretty public…This song is pretty cool overall. The lyrics are pretty original besides maybe the chanting if you listen…. and the reggae is something definitely unexpected by Linkin Park of all bands so I think you guys might be off base on those marks. That you don’t like Linkin Park is your own issue, but if you don’t like them so much, wtf are you doing wasting your time bitching about them???? Go listen to music you enjoy and stop living in misery.

    • As it happens, the speech was also “stolen” by Skinlab on the outro to “Come Get It” on the ReVolting Room album. It’s been used by several musicians, I believe, and was not a creation of FF. So no, LP didn’t steal that. As for the rest of the song… the less said the better.

Whether they stole shit or not is besides the point. This song is dogshit and only someone who’s been stuck in a block of ice for the past 8 years would disagree. You fuckin Encino Man, numetal-loving turds who’ve got to show up on every Avenged Sevenfold, Korn or any other washup has-been band’s news and reviews to “defend their honor”.

You like garbage music, and the more you keep jumping on the soapbox to proclaim it, the harder we are going to throw stones. Because we hate you. :)
