Opeth/Porcupine Tree Project Reveal Tentative Album Title
“Storm Corrosion” has been chosen as the working title to the forthcoming collaborative album from Porcupine Tree‘s Steven Wilson and Opeth‘s Mikael Akerfeldt. A release is expected sometime next year with the pair warning listeners to not “expect any metal” from the project.

Boner!
I dont give give shit if there’s no metal in it. It’ll still be fucking sick. I’m expecting something like Damnation then. Which was a sick Opeth album.
Cool. Looking forward to this. Some great musicianship at work here.
If it sounds like a cross between Damnation and Stupid Dream, that would be magical – but I’m not counting on it. At least it won’t have any awful SW metal riffs no Hessiaen Peel transitions – though The Throat of Winter demonstrates that Mike is quite capable to making a soft song with terrible transitions.
no no. Bloodbath’s “iesous” demonstrates that mike can make a soft song.
@frog – Throat of Winter’s a weird one, yeah. But I dig it quite a bit after a few listens. Not sure if the transitions are “bad”… unconventional, maybe? Or maybe just bad, who knows. Heh.
Akerfeldt combined with Wilson’s songwriting and crafting, this really has the potential to be great.
The Throat of Winter is a bunch of undeveloped ideas completely slapped together. Whenever it starts to do something, it goes off in a different direction.
What happened to Portnoy? Why no mention of him here? I was hoping for Porcopeth Theater!
