Chevelle To Perform 10th Anniversary Shows In Chicago In October

Chevelle are planning a “Ten In 10” 10 year anniversary performance which will take place on October 28th and 29th at the Metro in Chicago, IL. The sets will find the band performing top ten greatest hits:

The Red
Send The Pain Below
Closure
Vitamin R
The Clincher
Well Enough Alone
I Get It
The Fad
Jars
Letters From A Thief

Speaking on the shows, the band offered the following statement:

“After more than 10 years of writing and releasing records, we thought ‘what better place to come back to than the place where we were first inspired. We saw our first real rock show at the Metro is 1988 and we thought it would be amazing to mark this point in our career with a show there.”

You’ll never see them play anything from Point #1. They HATE that album.

I saw them a few years back, right after “This Type of Thinking…” came out, and asked them about it after the show and the drummer looked at me with such disgust, haha.

Also, Still Running should have DEFINITELY made the cut, what the shit?

    • @Rxinfection- I have seen them live twice and they’ve played (both times) Open leading into Point #1. One of the times, they played Prove to You.

Personally, I like almost all their stuff. The songs that aren’t hits though are my fav… like “Get Some” or “An Evening With El Diablo”…. golden

Wonder what’s next is still of of my favourite records of the 2000′s. Perfect Chevelle album, no filler, and huge riffs. The last few records were quite generic IMO.

I’m so happy I could not care. Wonder What’s Next was the shit. But I couldn’t really get into them after that. Their cover of Depeche Mode’s It’s No Good wasn’t that bad though.

    • I’ve seen Chevelle several times, love their records but GODDAMN do they have a thin, weedy sound live. I guess that’s what happens when you stack your guitars 12 channels high in Pro Tools…
