Winds Of Plague Tap Hatebreed Frontman For New Album
Winds Of Plague were recently joined in the studio by Hatebreed/Kingdom Of Sorrow frontman Jamey Jasta for a track on their upcoming new album. As previously reported, the band plan to officially begin recording the outing later this summer with producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed) following the completion of their stint on this years “Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival“.
For now, some footage of Jasta and Winds Of Plague frontman Johnny Plague in the studio discussing their collaboration can be found below:

Didn’t even recognize Jasta at first with the facial hair….but what doesn’t really make sense is how he goes from collaborating with Kirk Windstein for probably the best album of the year, to collaborating with a really young deathcore band still struggling to find their identity.
Pretty much everything makes more sense than calling the Kingdom Of Sorrow CD “probably the best album of the year.”
nope. you are wrong sir. “Behind the Blackest Tears” is awesome.
What don’t you like about it?
i want Marta to sign my wang
It sounds like a watered down mixture between the riffing of Crowbar and the vocals and song structures of Hatebreed. Can be fun as an experiment, but doesn’t work well enough to serve as an interesting album.
And I’m not saying that I hate it or that I don’t like it at all – but it’s certainly nowhere close to “album of the year” for me. To me that would only be possible if it was the only album I’d listen to for the whole year.
I mean… Aeon, Blood Revolt, The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Gaslight Anthem, Haste The Day, Heaven Shall Burn, Hour Of Penance, Immolation, Impending Doom, Insidious Disease, Kvelertak, Misery Index… all by far superior in my opinion. What the hell, I’d even prefer the new Soilwork album.
To each his own my friend. I think it sounds like they’ve definitely stepped up into a unique sound with great songwriting and not so much just Hatebreed equals Crowbar anymore. I give it a lot more credit than you do because for me, it will undoubtedly be one of my top 3 CDs I’ll be listening to for the whole year at least. I can’t get enough of it right now.
What I do agree with you on is the new Misery Index. “Heirs to Theivery” and “Behind the Blackest Tears” have been almost all I’ve been listening to the last couple months.
Jesus, someone just said the HTD and HSB were better than Kingdom of Sorrow…I might go chop off my dick now.
@ cma3585. be cool man. don’t do anything you might miss later
