Avenged Sevenfold Debut “Nightmare” Video Online
Avenged Sevenfold have released the edited version of their music video for their track “Nightmare” online below. The uncensored version will debut online shortly. The group filmed the clip with director Wayne Isham (Metallica, Godsmack). “Nightmare” is the title track to the bands new album which will see a July 27th release date.

Waking The Fallen is such a great album. Too bad it all went downhill when he lost the ability to scream.
Video and song were both rather lame. The drummer they got to record seemed to fit The Rev’s style pretty well, and it was cool to see his kit at the end, aside from that… meh.
ack its a shame they have some pretty talented guitarists, too bad they’re wasted on such a shitty band. M Shadows just ruins this band with his fuckin HORRIBLE voice. Yeah the guitar players and late drummer are talented, but the singer and the songs just ain’t there. I also enjoyed Waking the Fallen for a bit and then quickly stopped caring once the next album came out.
@lllslinklll – The drummer they used on this album is Mike Portnoy. He’s the biggest fucking douche bag in the drumming community. It’s the same guy that plays for that flamboyant band Dream Theater. The guy is a fucking goober. That same guy gives the camera dirty looks and flexes his flabby arms during his “instructional” videos, who then probably masturbates all over his Star Wars Legos collection once the camera is off.

M shadows is a talented performer, try singing like him, u wouldnt last 3 songs. Shadows does have a pretty spectacular voice these days when it comes to the hard rock/metal stuff they’re doing currently. His actual singing voice was at its peak on Waking The Fallen…but how it’s evolved is something to behold considering he was how close to screwing his voice up completely? I’m a big fan of absolutely all of their stuff, every single album. Yes, Waking The Fallen is their crowning achievement…however, the direction they’ve since gone (yeah, less heavy, bitch all you want) they’ve practically nailed and crafted into their own brand. There was no band that sounded like Avenged on Waking the Fallen and there is still no band that sounds like Avenged in comparison to City of Evil, self-titled, and judging from these two new tracks, Nightmare as well. The Confession were riding their tails with Shadows in the mix, but they were always the bastard redheaded stepchild who were never good enough and never would be. Anyways, it’s much easier to sit down and claim how much they suck than it is to sit down and take a step back and learn to appreciate what exactly they bring to a pretty boring “mainstream” table these days.

M. Shadows’ voice old albums or new has always sucked has nothing to do with him screaming or “singing”, hes the weak link in a band that actually has musical talent. Now most of them have already cut off their faggoty scene hair, a good start, now just ditch the frontman. I know none of you a7x fans will agree with me on this but I don’t care cause all Avenged Sevenfold fans are these typical 12-16 yr old metal girls that judge a band completely on their looks and blindly follow them no matter what, cause they think they’re “hot”

I love where this thread is about to go…It’s very much a “blind following” thing. I don’t see how a supposedly 29 year old self-thinker (you’d have to be to be “edge”, right?) would purposely put his/herself into a group who all label themselves the same thing all b/c some self-righteous d-bag did in 1987. I eat meat, drink alcohol socially, and don’t do illegal drugs…should i start a zcma3585z trend that everyone who follows the same path should use to be “different” than the masses? I just find it vastly ironic that someone who so willingly engaged in behaving like everyone else (with your x’s and “edge” label) would call out “all” avenged “fans” as blind following teenaged girls.
No wonder their drummer is dead, look at the kind of hospital this bands healthcare gives them!

Nothing wrong with taking pride in living a drug/alcohol free lifestyle, I like the straight edge label, sure there’s alot of young edge kids who will break at 18 or 21. but when you’re well past 21 and you don’t drink or do drugs you’re the minority. Most of my peers and friends in their 20s spend alot of their time getting shit faced and stoned, its is your college years, so its nice to know that there are other people like me that I can get support from.
now lets not change the subject, back to bashing Avenged Sevenfold

He is a blatant rip off of Axl Rose, even down to the Aviators and bandana under the backwards hat. He wishes to sound like Axl so much that he even went out of his way to take vocal lessons from the same coach that gave lessons to Axl Rose. So yeah, if you’ve never listened to Guns N Roses, I’m sure Shadows would sound unique to you. Sorry to burst your bubble, but he is as close to a copy cat as you can get. He doesn’t even fucking hide it.
And for further reference, listen to the Use Your Illusion albums from GNR and then compare those vocal melodies and characteristics to City Of Evil. They are identical.

that being said, id much rather here this on the radio than say justin beiber or lady gaga. in the grand scheme of things , we are all rock music fans with different tastes and you do have to respect that to a certain degree.
