Korn was my absolute favorite band in middle school, and I almost saw them live last night (wasn’t willing to pay the price after all the TM fees, though) but that was just…. not good. At all. Plus it was Gummo – The Music Video.
I don’t think Korn get any worse than this…but I guess the album hasn’t dropped yet…
I know it’s his trademark, but Davis needs to ditch that ridiculous mic stand.
I used to love korn back during the self titled album and life is peachy. This sounds alright -,it’s growing on me. Still not the same, but it’s better than the last … how many shitty releases?
He should also ditch the Adidas track suit while he’s at it…and maybe making music too
@Surly, I was thinking that exact same thing as I was watching it. It wasn’t even cool when he first got it.
There was a time and place where I would have been all over this track… but now? I mean, it’s not even a decent song. The lyrics are so on the nose my face hurts. I’ve heard other tracks off of the album and they’re way more solid… at least considering the context and their “style”. Not sure if I’m a jaded prick or my tastes evolved or whatever because I was once OBSESSED with this band but it just seems like they’re grasping at straws. Meh.
Its ridiculous how similar korns career is to that, of your typical cliche’ rockband movie. Except you dont have to write a script for theirs…..they really were that dumb. They have every recipe you need………..
- Band makes original music and gets noticed for quality and creativeness.
-Band gets signed and eventually pushed to make shitty commercial music (completely throwing away what made them big in the first place.)
- Band enjoys money, whores, and drugs. Get cocky and make even shittier music and treat each other like shit.
- guitarist finds god, and drummer disappears. Band gets desperate and finally realize where they fucked up after 13 years. So they try desperately to get back to their roots.
-By naming their album “remember who you (we) are.” and recording snippits of fake (I can still act troubled if needed) moans into their songs, they cross their fingers and hope it works.
@rbsuitcase I’ve always been a fan of KoRn but dude you are completely right haha well written haha Remeber Who We Are sounds like a better title definitely.
Remember*
when will these guys ever break up jesus christ.
I don’t think the song is that bad. The moans are fake though, reminds me of the Korn video showing them in the studio with Ross, him bringing out “the demons” from Jon. Does seem weird seeing him wearing the track suit too. This video is creepy as shit to me because it was filmed in my backyard. Not proud of it, but those people weren’t actors either. I don’t live in a trailer though. I’m sad now.
The drummer looks mighty fabulous in that first screen image.
best song i’ve heard by them since life is peachy.
I dont think the song is THAT bad. I kinda like the melody of the second guitar which you can barely hear without headphones or anything. which brings me to why I REALLY dislike this band; It’s obvious they have a second guitarist, Shane Gibson (who is really good) which they have been using on tours and shows since 2007. korn pushes the new guitarist towards the back of the stage to play in the shadows, wont put the guy in the videos or promotional shit, yet, their faggy new drummer is those stupid shades, gets screen time? thats gay. just like jonathans mic stand.
That assaulted my senses, I feel raped. They should build a fucking time machine and go into the past, around, let’s say, the Take A Look In the Mirror era, and persuade themselves to stop. Maybe I’m wrong, maybe even sooner than that?
Well, it’s ok… it definitely grows on you. It isn’t as catchy as you’d expect or banging but WAYYYYYY better than their previous album. Heard a couple other songs from the album and it sounds promising… much better than their radio friendly one…(this one)
Yeah way sooner like, right after life is peachy.
Another poor song by Korn…
I think it´s a typical korn song… I guess we´ve just grown up.
i used to love korn until issues, I felt very disappointed by every album they released after that. but today, I cant even listen to their old stuff… maybe one song here and there, but that´s it.
i think JD’s dad/stepdad, whoever, should come back and abuse the fuck out of him, then we might get some decent music again
some bands just don’t know when to quit.
I have to second what El Caco said above. “We’ve just grown up.”
I was also a fan of Korn until Issues. Every album after that has been a disappointment. As far as their old stuff, the only track on my iPod is Blind. And this is coming from someone who at one time was a huge, huge fan.
It might be time for them to call it a day before they do more damage to their brand.

i like this song a lot. idk, i think it’s pretty dope. no it’s nothing out of the ordinary, but shit, it’s korn. it doesn’t have to be. they’re the pioneers of their sound. people tend to forget that part. i mean everybody’s entitled to their opinions, but damn, i think some people are a little harsh on what they have to say.
@nickmongonijr your taste may or may not have evolved but as far as Korn they are a shell of their former selves. In my opinion the closest they came to their “roots” was “Take A Look In The Mirror”. While the new stuff is a million times better then the last two albums, calling it III and comparing it to the first two albums is ridiculous. The first two albums had raw emotion, the new album sounds contrived, and the are admittingly trying to recapture the feel of the early albums, the only problem with that is Jon has no emotional connection to what he’s singing about anymore, he’s disconnected, his life just doesn’t suck enough to conducive to Korn/Life is Peachy type vocals. What is going to make him cry on an album these days? “This album only sold 2 million instead of 4.” “I sold my house for 3/4 of the price I bought it for!!!” “WHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!”
@deffur,LOL! My thoughts exactly, I’ll go to the show and make him touch balls at knife point, then call him a fag. I’ll take one for the team…
@Johnny Ruthless, “That assaulted my senses, I feel raped” you should be a ghostwriter for Jon D
Why doesn’t Korn just leave me alone?
maybe this is there St. Anger before Death Magnetic.
their * (ownership, right?)
Why does Fieldy look like Munky?
I like the whole going back to the roots thing.
But it just doesn’t seem to work out
Are you seriously trying to imply that Death Magnetic was good?
Although I do like the new song and it’s already better than anything from their last album the video isn’t really that great. And it’s obvious anything they put out now isn’t gonna be up to par with anything they put out in the 90′s.
I really got my fingers crossed for this album. I hated Untitled but since I’ve been a fan of KoRn since I was 12 I bought it anyway but I did make sure it was used for 2$ and that’s about how many songs I like on there so it works out.
Here’s hoping everything else on that album is heavier than this song. I really just want to listen to new Deftones and KoRn all summer and pretend it’s 1998 again.
Korn has never sounded worse…. and thats saying a lot. and if I remember correctly, didn’t Ross Robinson produce this album? I usually love his style of purposely underproduced sound, but this just sounds plain bad. Time to retire Korn…
