Limp Bizkit Offer Statement On Summer Tour Postponement

Limp Bizkit have posted a statement regarding the recent postponement of their planned summer tour to the fall over at their newly relaunched official website, www.limpbizkit.com.

The statement reads as follows:

“Our reason for moving the US tour dates is simple.

We insist on bringing you the best concert experience we have to offer.

An amphitheatre environment won’t allow us to do that with so many seats directly in front of the stage. Moving away from amphitheatres and into venues with appropriate floor space will allow more room for jumping, dancing and moshing directly in front of the stage, instead of on a grassy knoll a hundred yards away. Ultimately this is what we prefer. Those of you who want to sit down during our show will find plenty of seats around the outside of the floor area. We feel strongly about our decision and want this to be your best concert experience of 2010.

We are truly sorry for any inconvenience.

The updated list of dates will be announced as soon as we finish routing the tour (which is being done now) and anyone that has already purchased tickets will be refunded accordingly.

Sincerely,
Limp Bizkit

The best show I ever seen Limp Bizkit play was at Ozzfest ’98 and that was at an amphitheatre . It seems like these guys seriously think there shows are going to fill arenas…didnt Korn just switch back to play small venues because they could sell out arenas anymore? Anyway hopefully they get the tour going at some point, I’d probably check it out if it didnt involve spending more than 20 bucks or so.

They’re not switching to arenas, they’re switching to SMALLER venues because they’re not coming close to selling out amphitheatres. I’m not sure of what these places are in other cities, but for those of you familiar with Philly, a place like The Electric Factory.

Then again who knows I’ve come to find I underestimate the amount of LB fans in the world. Will they fill the Wachovia Center, no way. They would probably sell the Electric Factory out, which has seating in the balcony, but reading the post it seems maybe they are thinking about arenas, which might be a shot to the ego when they’re playing to half full venues, except for maybe a few spots in the south and midwest.

    • Ozzfest 98 was on another level, the giant toilet bowl was great, however their Family Values tour that fall blew away their work at Ozzfest imo.
Jayofthejungle, the EF on;y holds under 2700 people. Ampitheatres range from 7500 upto 18000 depending on the town/city and every venue limp had booked was roughly 12k or more. The thought of moving to an arena I wouldn’t be surprised if we see the Family Values moniker attached and the addition of Rob Zombie or another mid to large venue name so therefore they’ll pull the guaranteed capacity to these arena’s to make the events profitable.

Also, I’ve been under the impression that outdoor Ampitheatres cost more to rent than your standard arena for a concert, but at the end of the day being able to charge 1200-2000 people a premium for floor/mosh pit tickets is easy money rather than giving those who choose to stand lawn seats at a discount. It’s all about money and if LB and co. weren’t poised to pull serious bank by pushing the dates back they wouldn’t have done it.

@ Hidden Agenda….Creed brought in all those jesus people to there shows…so now the question is…are there more religious folks going to shows (Creed) or more doucebags going to shows (Limp Bizkit).
