Torche Robbed In Chicago, IL, Canadian Shows Cancelled
Torche lost a number equipement, instruments and personal items as a result of their van being broken into last night in Chicago, IL. The group offered the following statement on the matter:
“Last night in Chicago our van got broken into and a bunch of our equipment got stolen. Among the stolen equipment was both of Jon’s bass guitars (custom first act and custom electrical guitar company), our new guitar player’s custom guitar, Steve’s black les paul custom, Steve and Jon’s pedal boards, all our guitar stands, bags of cables and strings, and a bunch of personal bags that included check books, passports, IDs, etc etc…
Since 3 out of the 5 of us lost our passports, we won’t be able to play our shows in Canada now on May 18th and 19th. We’re trying to find anyone interested in setting up last minute house shows/small bar shows around the Northeast to try and make some extra money. The total of all our shit that got ripped off easily exceeds $10,000 and we just borrowed money to put a down payment on a new van before this trip, so we’re in a bad situation right now.
If anyone thinks they might be able to help us out with shows in the Northeast on May 18th, 19th, and 20th, it would be greatly appreciated!!!”

I saw these guys open-up for Coheed & Cambria/Circa Survive a few weeks ago, they were legit. Bummer to hear about this.
Shitty news, indeed. Here’s to hoping they find the pieces of shit who did this. So many waste of skin people out there who do shit like this. Good luck guys.
Fuck I hate reading about these fucking incidents…I hope shit comes together for these guys…
that sucks. i hate to here about any band having shit stolen. if i were a million dollar man i’d hook them up. bummer dudes.
Is there insurance available for these type of travesties?
Depends on if they had the specific items registered with the insurance company. If it’s $10k of equipment, chances are they didn’t insure it.
Wow…that shit sucks. Seen them with Coheed and they were pretty good. I can’t imagine how I’d feel if I had that much equipment stolen from me, let alone stolen while on tour.
