M Shadows is that 24 year old guy who shows up to your high school dance and thinks he’s the ultimate bad ass. This band has become so completely obnoxious they put the new Guns N Roses to shame.

It has absolutely nothing to do with a band being commercial or not. I like a lot of bands that have sold millions of records, and I would not stop liking a band that became universally popular if they kept making great music…

I think it does. If you look at news articles related to bands such as Avenged Sevenfold, Limp Bizkit, Disturbed, and the like, there’s a lot of posts slamming the band for one reason or another. The metal community is fickle, similar to the punk community. Once a band tweaks it’s sound to be more commercially pleasing, or simply starts out that way, the hate starts. I do understand that a commercial sound means a band will be heard by more people, and will attract both more fans and more hatred that way. What I don’t understand is why people feel the need to consistently come into the comments section of a news story related to bands they don’t like simply to state their hatred of the band.

The reason for commenting is so people can state their opinion- hate it or not- otherwise why the fuck have a space to even comment? there would just be posts to read so no one can see what anyone else thinks. Not everyone can agree and thats a given especially in the music world but just because someone wants to post hate to a column great!!! if they want to post their love great too!!!! but dont sit there and type the whole ‘you only hate it cuz its commercial or you only hate cuz blah blah’ just leave it at that cuz who cares? its someone elses OPINION and if your trying to defend the band just say ‘THIS BAND FUCKING ROCKS’ instead of trying to analyze why someone hates a band. It just so happens that most people commenting dislike the particular bands sounds on a lot of the main posts but hey! its not like the band is relying on us to determine their sucess, obvisously they have made it far enough.

@Anadivine-sadistic – I’m not saying that the news articles shouldn’t have a comments section or that people don’t have the right to state their opinion, whatever it may be. For example, I don’t like Job for a Cowboy. I skip over Job for a Cowboy news, and I certainly wouldn’t go into a Job for a Cowboy news article and post “JOB FOR A COWBOY SUCKS FAT SHARK COCK”.

    • @smartassboiler – I agree. If it’s a band I don’t like or a style I don’t particularly go for, I just skip it over. I have no reason to express my dislike for a band on the comments. Why should I?? I DON’T CARE. It’s not like the band is personally affecting my life. If I comment, it’s usually on a band or subject I CARE about. I don’t have the time or the energy for anything more. I’d rather be enjoying my favorite music than bashing some band I don’t even listen to on the internet.

I’m going to have to agree with Anadivine on this one. What would this forum be without hilarious derrogatory comments about Limp Bizkit or any other band like, “JOB FOR A COWBOY SUCKS FAT SHARK COCK”? This literally made me laugh for a good 10 minutes straight! Am I immature? Probably. Are comments like this unnecessary? Probably. But it’s a forum. What are forums full of? Opinions. I honestly don’t understand why people get so personally offended when someone else makes a derrogatory comment about a band they like. It’s inevitable. Accept that others aren’t going to like the same bands as you and get back in the conformity line, you mindless droning automaton. I can honestly say that I’m a fan of The Libertines for some odd reason and if you call them a bunch of skinny english crack-head faggots, I really wouldn’t care.

I’m not saying they make bad music, I’m just saying form all outward appearances one could construe that they may be freebase’ing cocaine and hence are not eating well.

I think that has actually been proven conclusively. I still enjoy their music though. Babyshambles is good too. I might want to kick Doherty’s ass something fierce, but he makes good music…I have to give it to him.

    • @Aries…you’re right there, my friend. Doherty can’t seem to say away from the junk. He probably wouldn’t be nearly as creative though.
