Underoath Working With New Drummer, Announcement Due Soon
Underoath will soon be hitting the studio with exact plans to be announced shortly. In the meantime, the band recently revealed via Twitter that they are working with a new drummer following the recent departure of their drummer/vocalist Aaron Gillespie. The band had the following to say about the matter:
“Sorry for the lack of updates on this, but we will make an announcement about a drummer in about 2 weeks. We are currently jamming and writing with someone but we want to hold off on any sort of announcement for a bit. Thank you all so much for the kind words and thoughts!”

This news slipped past me…… I enjoy Underoath, even though I don’t agree with them philosophically.
Underoath – Aaron Gillespie = nothing. Their music was pretty mediocre with or without him, but he was probably the only defining aspect of the band that cut them out from the rest of the boring post-harcore kid bands out there.
@RxInfection – agreed, but that guy wanted to be a rockstar, and that’s what The Almost is all about. They better replace him with Jesus himself if they have a chance of surviving.
They’re gonna regroup w/ a new drummer and go on the “Nobody Gives a Shit about us anymore” tour w/ Thursday, A Static Lullaby, Poison the Well and JUST added Dillinger Escape Plan…Who am i kidding? That festival in horrid tastes would probably be massive. Sad. SADDER than sad even.
An Underoath, Thursday, A Static Lullaby and Poison the Well tour would be fucking amazing. Especially A Static Lullaby.
