Whitechapel Tap Deftones And The Acacia Strain Frontmen For “A New Era Of Corruption”

Further details have been revealed regarding Whitechapel‘s upcoming new effort, “A New Era Of Corruption“. The album, which is due in stores on June 08th through Metal Blade, will feature guest appearances from Deftones frontman Chino Moreno and The Acacia Strain vocalist Vincent Bennett.

Speaking on their inclusion, band guitarist Alex Wade offered the following:

Vincent has been a long time friend of the band and we have always talked about him doing guest vocals on one of our records, so naturally his style of vocals fits our music perfectly and sounds great. We’re honored to have Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno on our record. All of us are huge Deftones fans so it’s pretty surreal for us. He absolutely killed his part on the album and it’s everything I envisioned it would be. Plus it’s cool that Chino was so opened minded to do vocals on something so extreme; I think that it sounds fantastic.”

The track listing for the album runs as follows:

01 – “Devolver
02 – “Breeding Violence
03 – “The Darkest Day Of Man
04 – “Reprogrammed To Hate” (feat. Chino Moreno of Deftones)
05 – “End Of Flesh
06 – “Unnerving
07 – “A Future Corrupt
08 – “Prayer Of Mockery
09 – “Murder Sermon” (feat. Vincent Bennett of The Acacia Strain)
10 – “Nercomechanical
11 – “Single File To Dehumanization

A bonus track by the name of “Animus” will be made available on the digital and LP versions of the outing. Speaking on the album itself, Wade commented:

“The album is finally 100% complete and we couldn’t be more excited. I think this record truly represents where we are as musicians at this point in our career. A New Era of Corruption is the heaviest and most aggressive material we have written to date. Some of you may notice that the title of the new record, A New Era of Corruption, is a line from the song ‘Possession‘ off of our last album This Is Exile. We wanted to name the CD this to bring a little flavor from ‘This Is Exile‘ into the new CD, as well as I think the name represents this new age of extreme metal that we are currently rising in. The album is not a concept record like This Is Exile was. It just has its own general theme and each song deals with its own topic track by track.”

The song “The Darkest Day Of Man” will serve as the first single from the release with a video for it to be shot next month with director David Brodsky (Suicide Silence, The Black Dahlia Murder).

Don’t care much for Whitechapel, but could be interesting. We will have to wait and see how it turns out. Chino has done quite a few guest spots….

    • @lulz, the real question is why is Chino working with these losers. I like some whitechapel stuff but deftones is way better and hopefully reprogrammed to hate will be a good song.

    • Meanwhile, the song sounds awesome chino went out of his way to sound even better than his 94 album adrenaline with his screams and the synergy that comes in full with him and…phil or whoever the WC singer is…is fucking fantastic.

Great job being totally wrong about how good it will be, anyone who thinks reprogrammed to hate sucks has bad taste and probably shouldn’t post.
