Ill Nino Sign Deal With Victory
Ill Nino have inked a deal with Victory Records and will hit the studio in April to begin recording their debut for the label. A late summer release date is being projected while the following press release was issued on the bands signing:
“CHICAGO, IL – VICTORY RECORDS has signed New Jersey/New York recording artist ILL NINO. Their music is infused with bilingual lyrics, harsh and melodic vocals, flamenco guitars, tribal drums and salsa inspired bass lines. It is the perfect blend of Hispanic flavor coupled with Rock and Metal. The band’s Latin roots run deep with a strong Spanish speaking following that many hard rock bands have not achieved. Lead singer Chris Machado had the following to say about signing with Victory, “I’m honored to be a part of the Victory Records family. They are a great label with a historic roster and we couldn’t be happier. Having them on our side is amazing.”
ILL NINO formed in 1999 and has since sold 800,000+ albums over the course of four releases; 2001’s “Revolution…”, 2003’s “Confession”, 2005’s “One Nation Underground”, and 2008’s “Enigma”. Drummer and band founder Dave Chavarri said, “We’re totally psyched that we are now working with Victory Records. The first Ill Nino release on Victory will be brutal, angry, tribal, percussive, dark, and full of hooks!” Four of their singles have charted in the Top 20 at Active Rock radio. ILL NINO has toured the United States, Australia, Canada, Europe, Japan, Russia and South America with the likes of Linkin Park, Godsmack, Korn and Sevendust performing over 1,100 times establishing ILL NINO as one of the most lethal hard rock bands of the last decade.”

how do you go from strictly a hardcore label to being a nu-metal graveyard?
@rasputinmetalguy i agree but im curious to hear what it sounds like
It will sound like shit, sort of how everything on Victory sounds now a days.
man, who do they even have left on that label that’s any good?
Between the Buried and Me. . .. . .Between the Buried and Me . . . .
. . .oh, Path of Resistance are still together, right???
. .and. . .Ringworm (I kinda thought they went to Deathwish, but according to WIki they’re still there)
and the Sleeping (but I’m completely biased in saying that)
yeah, that’s it.
This band goes through record labels almost as fast as band members.
Hearing news about Ill Nino makes me wonder whatever happened to Endo.
I went to Ozzfest ’03, and got an autograph from Ivan back when he was in Motograter, and some dude from Endo whose autograph I really didn’t want, but he happened to be standing there. Still don’t know who the fuck that guy was/is.
Damn, they were doin fine on their own, Why Victory Records now??
