    • Wait wait wait wait…There are so many things wrong with this news I don’t even know how to properly react to it. Like all that’s left of Hopesfall is the vocalist (and not even the original vocalist). And when they broke up they had a huge falling out with Trustkill and basically called them assholes and liars (which is believable, ask Bleeding Through). Why on earth would Trustkill put out an E.P. for Hopesfall and why on earth would Hopesfall (Jay) want to deal with Trustkill again? Magnetic North was a great album to go out on, Jay just needs to let it go and start something new.

    • Trustkill?! I thought Trustkill was the reason they split up in the first place?

I can only imagine this is an EP of b-sides/rarities or a few live songs, because putting out new tunes via Trustkill goes against everything Jay said not too long ago.

Not that he’s done much since, not meaning to be cynical but I hope this isn’t just to scrape such cash together.

If I remember correctly, right before Hopefall disbanded they were working on new material. I’m pretty sure these are the last songs they wrote together, or like “Role Model” said, it may be a collection of b-sides/rarities.

Here’s the answer (which is found on their official myspace blog in Jan 2009):

“Hopesfall looking to finish tracking of unreleased material.
Rumor has it Jay Forrest will be tracking vocals in Chicago for a couple unreleased Hopesfall songs. Keep an ear out for further details.”

Just a heads up guys … Non-Offical words spoken from some of the old band members:

      ____________________________________________________

      Adam Morgan (Old drummer)

Hey Everybody… This is the deal…
Hopesfall is NOT back together as you know the band. The only 2 members from the previous line-up are Jay Forrest and Jason Trabue. There are no original members left. Either Jay and Jason have found 2 new guitar players and a bass player… Or, Jay is recording vocals over 2 songs that never got finished from the “Magnetic North” session. Regardless, I just wanted you all to know that this is not a revival of the hopesfall line-up that you have come to know and love. I’m sure that whatever these guys decide to write will be awesome and I wish the best to them. I just thought it was fair to let the fans know the truth about the situation.

      ____________________________________________________

Jason Trabue (Drummer during Mag North era):

Let me really set the record straight.

I have nothing to do with Hopesfall…. I guess its cool some people still think I’m apart of the band but sadly…. I’m not.

I have my own band in Kansas City that I enjoy & have a lot of work lined up with Motion City Soundtrack as they start a tour cycle in 2010.

As for Jay I’m not sure where this is coming from?? He, I & Stacey Hilt from The Casket Lottery have talked of doing a project as a side thing. But nothing has come from that at all!

So yeah enjoy old Hopesfall records because that’s all you will ever get. Trustkill is a piece of shit & a label I’d never work with again… I have a feeling a few other people wouldn’t either.

      See ya’ll laaaaater!

The Satellite Years was their best release to date. Very innovative for that time. After Chad left they went to shit. A Types sucked, in my opinion, although most people seem to credit that ablum as being their best. Even Magnetic North was better than that album. Chad created this cool instrumental album by the name of …Of Sinking Ships, which was awesome as well. For you guys that don’t know about that project, you should really check it out. It’s really good.

All this hopesfall talk is making me nostalgic as fuck. Truth be told, No Wing to Speak Of is by far the best musical EP to have ever gaced my ears and The Satellite Years was the first “underground music/ hardcore”(or whatever you want to call it) CD I physically owned. I love it to death. I agree with everybody that when I heard this awhile back it made no sense since Trustkill is truly the release the band went to hell. Why make more money for a label that ruined you? A fallacy in logic right there.
Oh well, we can hope one day the old lineup will get together and play a show…or make some new tunes ;].

And btw, …Of Sinking Ships is beyond orgasmic. A friend of mine, and fellow hopesfall love, gave me that cd years back and its very peaceful. Chad is Brilliant.

    • Agreed, No Wings to Speak Of is my favorite EP ever probably. End of an Era is just perfect. Being from Charlotte like them, they were probably the band I can attribute to turning me onto that kind of music after a friend dragged me to one of their local shows right before that EP came out. I enjoyed TSY as well, and I guess for the most part A Types and Mag North were ok, but it just didnt feel like the same band anymore with all those members gone.

Of Sinking Ships is definitely awesome. Other projects that hopesfall members were in that I enjoy/enjoyed:

      Laurelei
      One Amazin’ Kid
      Celebrity

And of course Will Goodyear of BTBAM fame filled in for awhile after Ryan Parrish left.
