According to a new interview with Ipecac‘s Greg Werckman; Mondo Cane, the 50′s & 60′s Italian pop-inspired project of Mike Patton of Faith No More fame, has been set for an as-yet unannounced April release date through the above-mentioned label.

Sometimes I look at pictures and videos of Mike Patton, and I think to myself, “this guy is a fucking robot, because it looks like he never sleeps.”
everything Mike Patton touches is golden !
I gotta tell ya, Mike, I’d much prefer to see a Faith No More show or two (maybe even a new album?) than listen to this no doubt good-intentioned but ultimately throwaway novelty record. Even Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, or Fantomas (in that order) would be a big improvement.
like the release of this is going to effect and/or prevent any FNM activity. hell, their US tour is probably going to be happening as this is released.
Roddy Bottum hinted to some big news on the horizon in FNM world, that tells me U.S. tour is iminent, as far as new material, FNM seems like a fully-functional band right now, The fact that Patton had a million other projects is par for the course and doesn’t mean that a FNM album won’t happen. I gotta agree with dirtdsgndotcom to an extent. Almost everything Patton touches is gold (Tomahawk – Anonymous, blows), looking forward to Mondo Cane, and new FNM. Let’s get a little discussion going. Name your top 10 Mike Patton albums. Here’s mine,
1. Faith No More – King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime
2. Faith No More – Album of the Year
3. Tomahawk – Tomahawk
4. Mr Bungle – Mr. Bungle
5. Fantomas – The Directors Cut
6. Dillinger Escape Plan – Irony Is A Dead Scene
7. Faith No More – Angel Dust
8. Mr. Bungle – California
9. Faith No More – The Real Thing
10. Peeping Tom – Peeping Tom
List was actually harder than I thought it would, be. Love all Patton except Tomahawk – Anonymous, but these were the ones that really stuck out
both roddy and billy have already stated that a US tour is in the works. they will be in austrailia until march 1st. im betting on US tour in april/may, leading up to or starting at coachella.
