Glassjaw Members Leave Saves The Day
Both bassist Manny Carrero and drummer Durijah Lang have left Saves The Day in order to fully focus on their duties in Glassjaw. Saves The Day frontman Chris Conley addressed their departures with the following statement:
“Being that Glassjaw is back in action and touring extensively throughout 2010, Manny and Durijah are leaving Saves The Day so they can be available to rock with the jaw. Saves is moving forward as always, getting two new band members ready to tour this January with New Found Glory.
Spencer Peterson will be joining on drums and Rodrigo Palma will be slappin’ da bass. we are so stoked to have Spencer and Rodrigo on board, you guys will love them. Rodrigo has been playing bass in bands with Arun since they were both 16, and he’s already part of the Saves The Day family, so we’re keeping it real.
Spencer has been busy out there in the world of rock, manning the drums for Hidden In Plain View and Charlotte Sometimes as well as filling in for other acts when needed. both dudes are talented and down to Earth….”

this is excellent news
If you’re a Glassjaw fan it is, not so much if you’re a Saves The Day fan. Though if you’re a STD fan (lolz) it’s probably about time you realize that it’s been almost more than 10 years since they released a good album and you should probably just move on. To Chris Conley’s credit though Two Tongue’s album was pretty good.
About damn time!
Cool, maybe now we’ll have a new GJ record in the next 8 years.
I believe 11 not 8.
Going to see the almighty JAw on New Years Eve Eve with Thursday, Dillinger, and United Nations, going to be epic. If it was in their control the album would have been out already, it’s done, the EP at least and most if not all of the full-length. (Good live bootlegs of what will be the EP exist and are easy to find) As far as the new material is concerned it’s fucking incredible, can’t wait to hear the studio versions. Hope they can sort out the issues that’s keeping the new music from seeing the light of day soon, all this touring and new GJ news is getting me impatient, then again it’s been what 7-8 years since W & T whats another couple months
That is one hell of a show Jay, you’re a lucky man.
I saw GJ with Brand New in Toronto, back to back shows at the Kool Haus in November.
I spoke with Beck after the show the 1st night and he told me the album is in the can, and the EP is done as well. He said they have a shitload of material they want to release but they can’t because Warners refuses to let them out of their contract. I’m not sure why they don’t want to release the material on Warner, most likely because they have a shitty contract that was negotiated nearly 10 years ago. Therefore they wouldn’t make a cent on the album, or EP I assume.
So ya, they have new music, just no way to put it out. Beck was rather heated about this issue, saying that they’ve been doing whatever possible to get out of the contract, but that they refuse to give Warner anything.
