Mudvayne Have Little Planned For Their New Album
ARTISTdirect recently conducted an interview with Mudvayne frontman Chad Gray which confirms that the band have no plans to tour behind their upcoming new self-titled album, and that they are doing little in the way to promote it.
When asked if the band had been writing anymore new material lately, Gray offered the following:
“No, we haven’t. We haven’t done anything. We’re not even doing anything behind this record. We’re not touring, we’re not doing shit. We’re just putting it out.”
Members of the band have instead been focusing on other interests, with Chad Gray and guitarist Greg Tribbett overseeing the production of Nonpoint‘s new album. The pair have also been working on a new HELLYEAH album as well. Mudvayne‘s self-titled album is currently scheduled for a December 22nd release date through Epic.

Sounds like they’re tired of each other.
I got a little confused when you mentioned them producing Nonpoint’s new album, and though I haven’t listened to one of their records in years, I decided to track down this “Cut the Chord” EP. Turns out that’s not the one they’re producing, it’s just an acoustic EP.
You can actually listen to it here, I’ve discovered:

if their upcoming album is as sucky as the last one, they r totally dead to me.
Chad Gray is the reason that Mudvayne sucks. He is also 100x the reason Hell Yeah sucks and I’ve seen them twice already. Blame Machine Head.
Mudvayne was a really great band when they first came out. Then they changed their sound and really became just another crappy metal band. They lost their motivation a long time ago.
the ld50 years have been long gone… the best of them is nowhere nowadays.. gotta ask if shawn “the clown” DID found the best of them
btw.. they got one or two singles after that album that get stuck into your head.. that’s cool and all.. but that only works for the mtv crowd
Kinda suprising, new algums probably the best thing since the end of all things / ld50 era.
