The Deftones were joined on stage by members of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Linkin Park, Far, Motley Crue, Cypress Hill and more during last nights show at the Avalon in Hollywood, CA.
The show is the first of two benefit performances the band are playing in a bid to raise money for the mounting medical costs incurred by their bassist Chi Cheng’s car accident this past November. The second show will take place tonight, November 20th.
For now, fan-filmed footage of the first benefit show has been surfacing online with some highlights available below:
“Savory” (Jawbox cover) (with members of Far):
“Rock Superstar” (Cypress Hill with Deftones):
“Anniversary Of An Uninteresting Event” (feat. Tommy Lee):
“Rocket Skates“:
Those interested in helping out with Chi Cheng’s ongoing recovery can find more information at www.oneloveforchi.com. Meanwhile, the Deftones will release their new album in February.

chris robyn and shaun lopez played on savoury too!
My 7th time seeing them, and it was by far the best performance I have ever seen.
I wish I could have been there. Such an awesome line-up of artists. The Jawbox cover was cool. One of my favorite bands of all time.

savory wins.
rocket skates = toejam and earl reference?
Deft-Owns
still want a studio copy of Rocket Skates.. live only sounds good if youre in the audience
I just recently saw Deftones with Slipknot a few weeks back. A weird tour lineup, but I called it my “high school dream tour”. Two bands that really helped shape what I would listen to in the future.

Could very well be, although the Jackass guys did a segment called “rocket skates” on one of the movies… either way, I’m just going to go out on a limb and say I’m not alone in wanting to finally hear the end product of all the guy’s hard work… wonder if they’ll sit on “Eros” or if it will eventually see the light of day?
